#2 Natural Stone Masonry & Front Entry Garden| Cold Spring, NY | Best Landscape Designs of 2021

Rounding out spot number two in our countdown of the Best Landscape Designs of 2021 is this stunning woodland, lakeside estate in Cold Spring, NY. GJL was tasked with designing a Landscape Master Plan to accommodate several buildings on site: main house, guest house and boat house. Phase one was to construct new natural stone masonry staircases and two new patios by the boathouse.

Completed new natural stone walkways, staircase, boulder-terrace and planting! (Just need mulch!)

Master mason Aztlan chisels at the natural stone to create the perfect fit. Aztlan’s artistry is bar none!

Front Entrance Natural Stone Masonry Install [VIDEO]

Watch the construction on the front entrance natural stone walkways and see the new landscape come to life in sixty seconds! Garden path stone and natural stone steppers sourced from Prospero Nursery.

Closer look at this epic, oversized natural stone staircase. Creeping junipers and boulder accents complete the aesthetic.

Low-maintenance palette of flowering shrubs, evergreen shrubs, ornamental grasses and evergreen ground cover.
This staircase connects the front door to the lower lawn and integrates seamlessly with the woodland aesthetic.
Secondary natural stone walkway connects the garage with the front door. Because of the heavy shade in this area, we opte for gravel and river rock accents. We love the combination of stone textures!

Boat house natural stone staircase connects the boathouse to lake access.
New patio landing and steps around the boathouse match the existing stone veneer facade. Previously it was crumbling just railroad ties and pavers.
