Ecological Landscape Alliance (ELA

Founded in 1991, the Ecological Landscape Alliance is a nonprofit, member-based organization made up of professionals, businesses, and proactive community members who believe in using landscape practices that are environmentally safe and beneficial. ELA advocates for environmentally-responsible stewardship of land and natural resources in landscaping and horticultural practices of both professionals and the public. Through education, collaboration, and networking, ELA promotes the design, installation, and maintenance of landscapes that are guided by a knowledge of and respect for natural ecosystems.

Bedford 2020 Healthy Yards Program

Community engagement, education, and the creation of grassroots support for climate change projects have been the focus of Bedford 2020 since its creation in 2010. This organization works to make a difference through various community programs, including the Healthy Yards program. The commitment of Healthy Yards is to help people change from harmful yard practices, which produce greenhouse gases and endanger wildlife, to healthy yard practices that do exactly the opposite.
